An intrepid gang of pigs punched through the roof of an overturned semi-trailer truck on May 11, according to People’s Daily.

The Sujiahang Suzhou company truck was apparently traveling too fast around a left bend, flipped over and smashed through a highway barrier rail about 12 p.m. on May 11. Approximately 70 pigs were being transported from Jiangyan to a Shanghai wholesale market inside the truck, and were left trapped inside the vehicle’s back carriage.

Proving themselves once again nature’s most clever animal, the brave pigs smashed through the truck’s metal security roof and broke free, celebrating their independence by grazing, laying in grass and rolling in mud. A few pigs stuck in the truck carriage died, and the front windshield and engine of the vehicle were badly damaged. The truck driver escaped unharmed.
