7am on a freezing morning, a 3 years old little girl was seen helping the street cleaner sweep fallen leaves in Changchun City, Jilin Province. The street cleaner is called Lv Shuying, and the little helper is her grand daughter Yingying.
Every morning, grandma gets up at 3am, and goes to work at 3:30am while Yingying remains asleep. At 6am, grandma returns home to make breakfast for Yingying and prepare her for kindergarten. Then they have to return to the designated cleaning area before 7:30am and work together until the kindergarten opens at 8. Yingying has to stay close to her grandma, sometimes she stands inside the green belt of the road, sometimes she follows grandma by the step. Worrying about her safety, grandma usually holds Yingying’s arm in one hand, and work with the other.
At 4pm, the kindergarten finishes, but grandma has to remain at work until 4:30pm, so there will be another half an hour they need to stay on the road cleaning.
According to grandma, they have been doing this since this Spring because Yingying doesn’t want to stay with her parents and always gets sick. Grandma has no other choice but to keep her by her side.
