Sure they invented paper, the compass, printing, and fireworks, but the thing is that those inventions were so simple, that everyone else would have already invented it eventually. All they do now is to copy other nation’s inventions. Technically, it’s not copying, but actually ripping-off, because despite they cannot “copy” the exact quality of the original product.
For example, the Korean-made Hyundai Genesis looks strikingly similar to a Mercedes and BMW. However, the Hyundai Genesis also managed to get the quality correct.
For the Chinese, only the outer shell of the car is copied. The quality of their cars are as inferior as their etiquette. Take a look at Chinese crash tests.

As someone who’s been to Hong Kong recently, let me share my opinion of the city:
Hong Kong has one of the most beautiful skylines in the world, and Victoria Peak is absolutely stunning.
However, it’s far from clean. Outside of the obvious “rich areas,” it’s one of the dirtiest and most polluted cities in the world. The pollution is so bad, the food is bad, and many people were incredibly rude.
Get rid of the pollution and clean up the rest of the city, and it’ll be fine and dandy. I can deal with rude people, but I don’t like uncleanliness.

Of course he is upset, but he did overreact. So a thief steals his passport in Dalian and he has to go to Beijing to get a new one. Does he have to walk to Beijing? And don’t talk about laws until you get every Chinese to obey the law in China (or at least in Canada).
Speaking as a foreigner who has been here (in mainland China) for more than 5 years, I certainly don’t condone this fellow’s behavior, but it’s also perhaps fair to recognize that foreign expats in China might have difficulty keeping up with all the changes to various Chinese laws, especially when the local populace so often skirts adherence to many of said laws. I’m curious how well the law was advertised. I wasn’t aware of it until quite recently either.
So to some degree I can at least understand why he lost his cool even if it’s not exemplary behavior–and certainly not helpful in improving perceptions of foreigners. This is the sort of situation where a passive-aggressive eruption might occur (the summer heat with 100% humidity probably doesn’t help, either.)

Koreans are the stupidest people on earth. At least the world respects China for its contributions and culture, where as Kimchi-lovers(which stinks like diarrea) do nothing but talk and their religion changes everyday, like christianity, buddhism etc. Whichever the wind blows.
