(Century Weekly) Cheng Jianping (程建萍) was detained for 5 days, and followed by a year of manual labor reeducation because of a tweet she posted on Twitter.
Cheng Jianping (Internet name: Wang Yi王译), 46 year old, freelancer, who came from Xinxiang City, Henan Province. Since June of this year, Cheng and her fiancé Hua Chunhui (华春辉) lived in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province.
October 17, 2010, anti-Japanese demonstration broke out in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. Cheng and her fiancé saw this news on the Internet, some demonstrators snatched away and smashed people’s Japan-made camcorders, cameras and cell phones on the streets. Hua Chunhui thought no matter what, destruction of other’s property is against the law, so he posted a tweet on Twitter:

These days a program called “the First Scene” on the Shenzhen local TV station aired a surveillance video clip showing a man senselessly beating another man in the elevator. The suspect was reported to be Australian Chinese named Liu Zinan (刘子楠). In the end, the victim’s arm was broken and his face stitched up. The police eventually sentenced Liu 10 days in detention and a 500 yuan fine. Netizens nation wide thought the punishment was laughably too light.
It was reported that the offender Liu Zinan is ethic Chinese Australian citizen, his home town is in Hubei province, his father has very high social status.

The unofficial news first broke out on micro blogs and forums: Ranked 9th in the 2005 Super Girl sing competition (like the American Idol in the U.S.), Wang Bei died in an accident during her plastic surgery. According to the netizen who spread the news, Wang Bei’s death was caused by doctor negligence at a plastic surgery hospital in Wuhan. Recently, the video of a girl senselessly killing a baby rabbit appeared on the Internet. The cruelty provoked Netizens’ great anger towards the rabbit killer girl. Many of you thought this was just an isolated incident, the girl was probably mentally ill. However no, the truth is behind her cruel acts there is an interest group by the name of “Crush Fetish”. Including those other girls appeared in the video are all members of this group of abusing and killing various small animals. The goal of making these sick videos is to make profit; they make the videos into DVD discs and sell them to foreign countries. On an October night in Hebei University in northern city of Baoding two college girls were struck by a black Volkswagen sedan. The driver, who is a recent college graduate and a Baoding local, tried to escape but was stopped by security guard. Recently a video of this young girl senselessly killing a little rabbit had appeared on the Internet. In the video, a young girl with long hair dressed in white abused and killed the little rabbit. She put a piece of thick glass plate on top of the the little rabbit and then sat on top of the glass plate. Using her body weight she crashed the little rabbit to death. Her 2 female friends watched and laughed when she committed the crime.

Fire broke out at a 28 story apartment building in Shanghai at 2:00 in the afternoon, Nov15 (local time) causing at least 49 deaths. The building was located at Jing An district and was under renovation. According to Xinhua’s report, over 100 were rescued out of the building of 156 households so far.
Well-known Chinese youth opinion leader Han Han happened to be at the scene and he had recorded what happened the whole time.

This year’s World Cup would not have been as much fun without Paul the Octopus. Now in the Asian games 2010 hosted in Guangzhou , pandas have became the oracles of the game.
Paul was presented with two water tanks containing the same food and each marked with the national flag of the two competing teams. Paul’s choice of which one to eat shows its favor. But how pandas perform their “magic” is different. “Boss” the panda predicted the the first gold medal right by choosing bamboo shoots over apple. No, the food were not the same. No, they were not marked with national flags. It is just assumed that bamboo shoot represents China and apple represents other couturiers. I am not a panda expert but I think it is a common sense that panda eats bamboo.

Yesterday I saw a very cheerful girl on the Jiangsu Province local TV. She is not ugly, but her thoughts really scared me. This little girl said she wanted to sell one of her kidneys to raise money for her cosmetic surgery.
