A 9 year old girl gives birth to a 6 pound baby boy

City Evening News reports on January 25, Changchun hospital gynaecology department took in a special patient, a 9-year-old girl who was 8 and half months pregnant. On January 27, at noon, this girl gave birth by cesarean section to a 2.75 kilogram (about 6 lbs) baby boy.
On January 25, reporter went to the gynaecology department of the hospital, most of the patients and family members were asleep; the hospital hallway was very quiet. Reporter approached the hospital staff asking for information on this girl and the staff member said please do not disturb because the girl and the family were already asleep. Reporter than asked about this girl’s personal circumstances and situation, but the staff member did not disclose anything. The reporter learned the 9-year-old girl’s name from the registration form and the registration condition was “pregnant…”
On January 26, the reporter once again went to the hospital to ask about the situation, but the hospital workers avoided the subject like it was a taboo. The reporter learned from the nurse in the ward, the pregnant girl’s family is from Songyuan and she looks very mature, but was unclear about how she got pregnant, her family never talked about the matter.
On January 27 at noon, the girl in the hospital gave birth to a baby boy after a caesarean section, the baby weighted 2.75 kilograms. Currently both mother and child are in good health.
Who impregnated a 9-year-old girl? It is still unknown at this time. But it was said that the girl’s family already reported the incident to the police. lawyer Liu from Liu Gongcheng Law Firm in Jilin said, in view of women under the age of 14 do not have sexual rights, so any argument of “being consensual” (not going against women’s will) in defense is completely untenable. However in May of 1939, a 5-year-old girl in Peru was pageant and successfully gave birth to an infant.
A female doctor, long time gynecologist told the reporter, a 9-year-old girl getting pregnant and giving birth is very rare.

well, at least the family members say they’ll try to find out who the father is and punish him severely, which is far less horrible and disgusting than the family of that 13-year-old British kid who try to make money out of him as he fathers a baby.
I would bet the family knows who raped her and is protecting him, it’s likely another family member.

Yet another failure of the Chinese healthcare system. When girls go into puberty too early in the “west” we sometimes administer medicines to postpone it since reaching puberty too early is a cause of many illnesses later in life.
I was thinking a relative as well or a “friend” of the family but honestly it is not fair to guess without knowing any details. The article stated that she looked “mature” so I guess it’s not totally farfetched to imagine she had a boyfriend a couple of years older than her. Safe to say somebody failed in looking after this girl though.

This could be a fabricated story and a fake post. I want to see the girl and her baby and all the medical records to confirm this case is true. It is highly unlikely a nine year old girl who has reached puberty, impregnated, and delivered a 6 lb baby. If it were a true story, I feel extremely sorry about this little girl who needs to be taken care of herself, let alone take care of her baby. She is in no position to do neither. The father needs to be harshly punished for rape, but the father could also be an underage person. This could be a difficult case. Baby is the product of puppy love.

When I was a kid my parents gave me some books about puberty and reproduction, and one of them was titled something like “A Guide for 9-12 year olds.” It was understood even back then, in the 1980s, that some girls are early and get their periods before they’re ten. If this girl had sex (or was raped) around the time of ovulation she could get pregnant even before she had her first period. That was mentioned in one of the books my parents gave me, by the way.
When I was married, we had a couple of cats: a female kitten and a male who was several months older. He decided he liked her and was always jumping her. The poor girl never even went into *heat* and she got pregnant at around 5 or 6 months of age. We had to do a pregnant spay because the vet said it would not be good for her health to carry to term. So this happens in other mammals too.
This is going to sound weird but I hope the baby is OK, and I hope nobody makes her give it up. I know she’s just nine, but you’d be amazed what a child that age can understand, and it’s not fair to separate her from her son just because some idiot couldn’t keep his hands off her. Poor kids, both of them (mom and son).
